FEBRUARY 15TH TO MARCH 26TH, 2021.
Dance Nexus is an annual combined schools dance program by DRILL. Each year we work with selected primary and secondary schools in a 6-week in-school residency to create dance pieces around a common theme. For this iteration of Dance Nexus, schools worked with the theme of change, each school taking a different perspective on feelings, reactions and beliefs about change after the hugely impactful and transformative year of 2020.
Lead by H.K. Vermeulen and Bethany Reece, students were able to discuss and share their ideas and feelings through conversation, supported to create their own new movement and choreography for the presentation of 4 new short dance works.
The students performed their pieces for each other and students at Bayview Secondary College in the combined performance day at the end of the project.
