NOVEMBER 28TH, 2019
MOONAH ARTS CENTRE, MOONAH

Junior Company 2019 is the third time DRILL has run this program, after The Mountain Project (2015) and Cybernetic (2018). DRILL sees this is a vital part of our offerings in Hobart, providing opportunities for young people in this age group to engage with the company, leading on from our programs in primary schools, and casual junior classes.

Junior Company members worked with choreographers Angela Barnard and Erica Campbell-Graham over eight weeks, hosted by the Moonah Arts Centre.

Elemental is an experience of the periodic table through movement. The dancers look at the contrast between life-giving and toxic gases, dig for metals and create human sculptures and machines, become tiny molecules that form H2O and become elements that respond to and bond with each other. The development process has even included creating their own man-made elements!
